Purpose... St. Benedict’s Foundation is organized to solicit and receive gifts, grants, bequests, contributions, and other financial aid from the general public and other sources, for the support and maintenance of benevolent, charitable, and educational activities. Restricted and unrestricted donations are solicited by St. Benedict’s Foundation. A volunteer Board comprised of community leaders and Sisters of St. Benedict directs the activities of the Foundation. The Foundation supports a variety of programs that directly impact the lives of women, children, families and the poor. The Sisters partner with other agencies such as: educational facilities, community health clinics, domestic violence programs, counseling, addiction prevention programs in schools, and child abuse prevention and treatment facilities. (Click here to see a list of our grant recipients) Other programs that impact the quality of life for individuals are also a part of the Foundation’s efforts to meet community needs. This partnership extends the hands of Christ to many more people than the sisters could reach alone. It is done through grants that the Foundation makes to agencies that make applications. Each fall, agencies that can identify with the sisters’ goals and objectives submit grant requests. These requests are reviewed, with grants being awarded according to Foundation guidelines and available funds. |
